I completed my challenge where I play almost nothing but pyro (with about 1 hour total of other classes) until I get the Pyromancer achievement. Now I'm doing the same with the Frags of our Fathers achievement.

Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood is cartoon-ish thirdperson shooter for PC
and is the first game from Sakari Indie. There's no story, but the outline is that you're a legionnare fighting a horde of rebels for unexplained reasons. Graphics are good for indie game, though the blood and explosion effects could use
some work.

Music isn't annoying, but it's nothing special. Sound effects are OK, but like the music aren't anything note worthy and sound a bit cheap. One thing that did annoy me though was the buzzing noise when enemies get near an objective. Maps are fairly open so it's not like it's hard to see that your objective is getting bombed.

So now for gameplay. Gameplay works like you'd expect it would. Click to shoot, right click to zoom, space to jump and WASD to move. All of the levels are either defense or survival with one joke mission that involves a massacre of chickens. For each kill you get XP to level up. When you level up, you can buy new guns and clothes with money you get for killing and completing missions. While the XP and money system could've added some extra replay value, you can reach the cap and get everything in about 3 hours, which is still longer than the game which you can beat in about 1 or 2 hours. While the game is fun, it is a bit short and gets repetitive.

My main problem with this game is the length, I unlocked everything and got almost all of the achievements in about 3 hours. The shooting mechanics are good, but there just isn't a lot of content. There are a few other flaws like the camera and sometimes buggy headshot detection, but the main flaws are that it's too short and too easy. Supposedly they're working on a multiplayer update, but the last time they posted on their blog was February 19, 2010.

Overall it's not a bad game, I thought the shooting mechanics felt right and the graphics were decent, but there isn't enough length or variety. Still, it's only $7, so if you have a little extra money laying around, you might as well give this game a try.

One day, I noticed Steam had just released a Supreme Commander 2 demo, having never played the first game, but having heard good things about it, I downloaded.
